Birth of a Rainbow

I saw it this way...by Janice Brown

Birth of a Rainbow. poem by Janice Brown

Hold still now and watch it unfold.

Watch the birth of a rainbow,

it doesn’t have a job description,

it just learns to lie there in wait.

Wait.

Wait for the right light to shine upon it.

I want to know if you’re my light.

Those probably aren’t the right words to get through the screening process, but that is how my heart moves and that is where I am coming from today.

I have concerns when we regulate the heart out of a process and forget to leave room for a little magic to unfold;

the humanity,

the brilliance,

the hope,

and the Heart.

All these qualities make up the Heart of

our world,

our homes,

our community,

and

our prospects for living a life of fulfilment.

Can I move a cursor from point A to point B and draft a beautiful creation? Yup.

Can I move a heart that needs healing from an octave of despair to an octave of hope? Yup.

Can I be cordial and informed, and point an inquisitive mind in the right direction? Yup.

Can I walk into a cold and chilly room and be uncomfortable in the clearing? Yup.

Can I reposition myself to accommodate an unfolding of experience and allow true growth to occur? Yup.

Can I walk into an empty space and see nothing but castles in the sky waiting to be born? Yup.

Can I wade through the ocean and save a turtle on the other side of the sea? Yup.

Can I move from Philadelphia down to Tennessee? Yup.

All these things,

I can do.

But

I wonder…

  Can you see Me?

This is the problem with being a poet at heart. My soul does not like to be confined by the terms of a job description, a posting, an application, or evaluation by checklist. I just want to say, "This is the job for Me!"

Resume writing. I don't want to write myself down into a narrow box.

I am so curious to see

    where the wind

         will sweep me.

I saw it this way.

~ A Girl

I’ve been working with the Tao as long as I’ve lived; and so have you. Here’s what that means to me, I’m a problem solver and I use the Tao as a framework for my discussion. In my writing and my work, I share with you how I use it, and you can decide if that’s helpful for you or not.

Janice writes from the Heart in the moment. She writes specifically from her point of view. You may not have seen it this way before, but that's the whole point—to turn it around and look at it another way.
